| Cold Laser Therapy |
The ML830 is a low level laser (called a cold laser) used to treat carpal tunnel and various other injuries. Cold Laser also successfully treats pain caused by shingles. 830Laser Delivers More Photons Penetration depth is one key to successful therapy, so also is the amount of light delivered to the targeted tissues. Photons are tiny packets of light emitted from a laser. It is the action of photons striking biological receptor sites on cells that produces the benefits attributed to laser therapy. In order to stimulate healing, reduce pain and inflammation it is critical that enough photons are delivered to the targeted tissues. The availability of photons at the targeted treatment location is a function of wavelength and power output. The 830nm wavelength with a 30mW power output combine to deliver the maximum amount of light to the greatest depth. Devices using other wavelengths and lower power output lack the capability to deliver enough light to deeper tissues to be of much benefit. Increased Endorphin Levels from 830Laser Treatment One of the greatest benefits of 830Laser treatment is pain reduction. Part of that pain reduction comes from the fact that laser therapy increases the body’s production of endorphins. Endorphins are pain relieving substances produced naturally in the body. Dr. Laasko and his colleagues at Australia’s Royal Brisbane Hospital proved in a study that the patented ML830Laser device has two benefits relating to endorphin production. 1) 830nm is the wavelength resulting in maximum endorphin production and 2) the power output of 30mW of the 830Laser is far superior in endorphin production than lower power units of five to ten milli-watts. This leads to better results when treating painful conditions. 830 nanometer laser therapy results in higher production of ATP A key outcome of laser therapy is the production of ATP. ATP is the chemical produced by the cells in your body that provide most of the energy used in cellular processes. A study conducted in Japan by Dr. Noriko Mochizuki showed that tissue levels of ATP were increased while tissues treated with a 632nm laser showed almost no increased level of ATP. Your body requires energy to heal itself. 830nm treatment, results in more energy production to fuel the healing process. |
